Vanity Kills

This is an introduction to Vanity Kills! No, I’m not talking about a design of corset I created a few years back by the same name but writer and future contributor to the Gore Couture blog! It’s pure coincidence they share the same name but I think from that coincidence came a shared respect and interest in fashion and the macabre.

I met Vanity Kills a couple of years ago online when she interviewed me for Auxiliary Magazine. I loved her style of writing so we got chatting again and she agreed to help me with the new website! She wrote the About page and also did one of the first blogs – Top 10 reasons to shop with Gore Couture.

As well as writing, modelling and other creative endeavours she is a member of the atmospheric dark electro band Venal Flesh who take inspiration from plastic surgery, medical waste, beauty & suffering.

As you can probably guess, I’m a little bit excited to have her on board with Gore Couture covering an array of topics to make things interesting!

Predatory

I’m not sure what she is doing on our planet but at the very least she wants a trophy to take home.

The Predatory is a three piece set, made up of corset, skirt and neck corset. Made from cotton coutil and faux leather with a decorative stitching to the front and back panels.  It has huge spikes on the hips and on the neck piece as well as faux leather fringing.  This is not available in the shop as of yet but can be made as a custom order. Feel free to contact me if you would like one making or something similar! The set in the photos could be available for hire, contact me for more details.

Halo did an amazing job of acting out each Monster and Mark of ASYLUMseventy7 did a fantastic job of bringing my vision to life.  We really enjoyed creating this shoot, a big huge thanks to all involved. This mini collection was made mainly to go along with the new website but I have lots of other designs in the pipeline so stay tuned folks!

The Screaming Banshee

Don’t let her wail at you, for you will surely die.

This Monster is clad in the Silk Banshee cincher and accessories. I wanted to create a version of this new style cincher with a simple print on silk. The texture of the silk dupion is stunning, even with the print on it you can still see and feel all it’s tiny imperfections. For me that is what makes it beautiful and my favourite fabric to work with. You can find this now in the Shop or if you would like a custom print of your own designing on silk Contact Me!

Jade of Ferox Clothing made the gorgeous Hooded Top especially for the shoot. Made from the same silk with black lining and faux fur around the hood.  Please go check out her work which massively promotes cruelty free, animal inspired fabrics! A big thanks to Jade for also helping out at the photoshoot and enjoying our Marilyn Manson indulgences.

More to follow…….

Black Widow

The first of the Monsters has arrived to wreak havoc on us all.  She is the Black Widow!

I’ve been making latex clothing for quite sometime now so I thought it was about time to add some to my collection. This particular one was inspired by the crazy Spider Lady Lei-iisa.  You can find the Black Widow to buy in the Shop or if you want this or any custom latex corset making then contact me! I specialise in appliqué work.

A massive thanks to Maja Stina for the loan of the latex catsuit. You can find her latex creations at http://maja-stina.com/ You can also find her in the Galleries modelling other corsets that I have made for her.

More Monsters to follow so stay tuned folks!

Top 10 Reasons to Shop with Gore Couture

GC-logo-V1

  1. Jason Voorhees’s mask might be iconic, but ultimately does nothing for your cleavage. Our pieces deliver on both fronts.
  2. Spikes on the hips make for excellent creeper repellent.
  3. We take the motto “All killer, no filler” deadly serious around here. All top notch quality steel boning, all the time. Our corsets don’t wrinkle, stretch, or give you a weird bulge when you sit down.
  4. When you call upon fallen angels clad in our All Seeing Eye Lucifer Underbust Steel Corset, they actually show up.
  5. Five words: Full Made to Measure Service. Because ill-fitting garments are the stuff of nightmares, we’ll go to hell and back to ensure you get the beautiful silhouette you deserve.
  6. Doll heads, Baphomet sigils, and inverted crosses are only the beginning. Dream of a creation so drenched in evil that you fear no designer will dare bring it to life? Show us what you got! We’d be delighted to help you unleash some custom made couture on the unsuspecting masses.
  7. They say the devil is in the details and we agree, which explains the obsessive devotion we exhibit when painting & sculpting dead dolly embellishments as well as hand-printing blasphemous patterns.
  8. If cannibalism figures prominently into your mating rituals, our Webs of Deceit underbust will assist you in dressing up for the occasion.
  9. Statistics don’t lie: It’s highly improbable to have a bad day when hit with a Glitter Bomb.
  10. Feeling a bit like Buffalo Bill? Lace yourself into a Death’s Head Moth Underbust, crank up “Goodbye Horses”, and indulge in a pants optional dance party.
